Lead panel in progress
Traditional Lead
In these classes we use the centuries-old method which has hardly changed since the 12th century. A panel or stained glass window consists of pieces of coloured glass held together with strips of lead came which is then soldered and cemented to create a weatherproof window.

Light catcher in progress
Copper foil (Tiffany) method
This refers to the method where each piece of glass is wrapped in copper foil before being soldered together. This method is generally used for making gifts and smaller pieces such as sun-catchers. Thought to be invented by Louis Comfort Tiffany who was a prolific maker of lamps.

Stained glass mosaic mirror
Stained glass & traditional mosaics and mosaic mirrors
This is the process of creating a design or pattern using small pieces of stained glass, ceramic tiles or crockery etc. adhered to either a mirror, glass sheet, vase or wooden shape to create a wonderful piece of art.

Fused glass funky chicken
Glass Fusing
This is the technique of joining two or more pieces of glass by heat in a kiln. Fusing involves melting your pieces together in temperatures of around 800c to create wonderful fused glass art

All our stained glass window courses are all-inclusive.  Glass, and all materials, plus refreshments and a delicious lunch are all included in the price.
From creating a small piece of stained glass art such as a suncatcher to learning how church stained glass windows are made, I can help you on your glass journey.
