Christmas Lantern Workshop
Unleash your creativity this festive season with our one-day Christmas Lantern Workshop, perfect for complete beginners or those who’ve tried glass before. You’ll design and build a beautiful fused-glass lantern, exploring techniques like glass cutting and shaping with wheeled nippers, and enhancing your design with frits (crushed glass), stringers (glass “spaghetti”), vibrant coloured glass, and glass paints.
All your work is fired in a specialist kiln at around 800 °C, and your finished lantern will be ready to collect about one week later.

When & Where:
- 9.30 am to ~4.30 pm (doors open 9.15 am)
- First-floor studio, Westside Warehouse, Bideford, EX39 2AZ
- Directions and Parking
Lunch:
Baked potatoes with ham, cheese and beans, plus a fresh salad selection and dressings. Sweet treats afterwards, with tea, coffee, fruit tea, biscuits, etc., available all day.
What to Bring / Wear:
- Just your imagination!
- Please no open-toe shoes.
Collection of fired glass
Your completed lanterns can be collected approximately one week later

Terms and Conditions
- All workshops require full payment at the time of booking.
- Workshops are not refundable, but if given 4 weeks or longer before the workshop, we offer one free date change. Subsequent changes will incur an admin fee of £5.
- If we receive less than 4 weeks’ notice, we will have to fill your place before transferring.
- If we are able to fill your place, we will issue you with a credit towards a future workshop.
- We reserve the right to cancel workshops, but under these circumstances, you will receive a full refund. We will not be held liable for any additional costs incurred.
- By making a booking, you agree to these Terms and Conditions
- Unless specified, all group workshops are for adults only (16 years upwards, 14 years if attending with a parent/guardian). The studio is not a suitable environment for very young children.
- Workshops are not recommended during pregnancy due to working with lead.
